Summary
Cynthia Gregory, a principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre, talks about past, present, and future aspects of her career. Among the topics she discusses are the effects of motherhood on her life, the influence of Walter Terry, her technical strong and weak points, the qualities she admires in George Balanchine's choreography, her current interest in acting, her partnership with Fernando Bujones, and her studies with Carmelita Maracci. She also offers some advice to aspiring dancers. Interspersed with the interview are brief commentaries by her colleagues Bujones and Medhi Bahiri. She is seen in action in rehearsal footage and in a performance of Ruth St. Denis's Brahms waltz at Jacob's Pillow. At the end of the program Bujones compares being affiliated with a company to freelance work.
