Summary
Choreographers Sally Gross and Manuel Alum talk about their recent trips abroad, respectively to Bali and Japan. They describe what attracted them to those cultures and relate some of their experiences, including Alum's learning a dance from the Noh repertory. Both recall performances by older performers and note their lifelong commitment to dance. The two guests conclude by describing how their experiences abroad have influenced their work. Alum is seen in a shared performance with dancer Daisuke Fujima, and in his works C.O.C.A. and On the way. Gross's choreography is represented by Domain and The other side.
