Summary
Drama about a young dancer torn between conflicting demands. The first hour of the film contains numerous scenes of dance performances, rehearsals, and classes. According to Ruth Beckford, Dunham's biographer, five dances were created expressly for the film: Coboclo do mato, sung and danced by Dunham; Baiao; Sube Espuma, danced by Dunham; New love, new wine; and Mambo. Walter Zappolini (not listed in credits) partners Mangano in the mambo.
