CONTENTS: Interview with Siobhan Davies (approx. 25 min.). Davies discusses her development as a choreographer, noting the contribution of her studies in the United States, the place of Sphinx (1977) as a turning point, her choreographic processes and experiments in Wyoming and other works, and the creation of Embarque for the Rambert Dance Company. Among the works discussed are Rushes and White man sleeps. -- Interview with Lloyd Newson (approx. 24 min.). Newson, the director of DV8 Physical Theatre, discusses the controversial content of the company's works, which are collectively choreographed. He talks about the evolution of his choreography, beginning with his work for the Extemporary Dance Company, and DV8's directions for the future. Works discussed include Dead dreams of monochrome men, Deep end, and My body, your body. -- Interview with Ian Spink (approx. 32 min.). Spink, the artistic director of Second Stride, talks about his interest in integrating dance with theater and multimedia, and examines some of his devices, including the use of multi-layered images and meanings, Surrealist and Dadaist material, and dream imagery. Past works discussed include Bösendorfer waltzes, Weighing the heart, and Further and further into night. He also describes Fugue, a recent television collaboration with playwright Caryl Churchill, and his plans for a new work based on Coppélia.
