Summary
Documentary on balls, competitions that combine elements of dance, fashion, and mimicry of the straight world, held in New York transvestite clubs patronized mainly by minorities. Representatives of various "houses" or homosexual family groups discuss aspects of the balls, particularly their relationship to fashion modeling and the rise of the dance form called voguing. The interviewees also discuss the role of the balls as an expressive outlet and a means of pursuing aspirations towards careers as models or dancers. The film is preceded by approx. 6 min. of previews.
