Summary
Tetley, a choreographer whose work combines modern dance and ballet, looks back upon his career, beginning with the initial impetus he found in Antony Tudor's ballets for Ballet Theatre. He recalls his studies with Hanya Holm, his membership in American Ballet Theatre, and his work for various companies, notably Pierrot lunaire, created for his own company; Circles and Mutations, created for Nederlands Dans Theater; and his recent association with Dance Theatre of Harlem. Excerpts of his works include Dialogues, performed by Dance Theatre of Harlem; Voluntaries, Tagore, and Alice, performed by National Ballet of Canada; and Pierrot lunaire, performed by Ballet Rambert.
