Performance of European court dances of the 1500s, recorded in indoor and outdoor settings. The dances are interspersed with narration drawn from Sir John Davies' Orchestra, or a poem of dancing (1596); Thoinot Arbeau's Orchésographie (1581); and William Shakespeare's sonnets nos. 129 and 130.
