- Summary
- Dance-drama based on a fairy tale of the Thai minority in Shi Shuang Pan Nak, a region on the southwestern frontier of China. The story centers on the love between the prince Chao Shu Tun and the peahen fairy Namarona. The choreography is couched in western ballet technique with elements of Southeast Asian and Chinese folk dance, and the action contains echoes of western ballets such as Swan lake, La bayadère, La sylphide, and The sleeping beauty.
