- Briefly discusses the spectacle Nicolas de Flue, staged by Bruno Verdi at the amphitheater in Martigny to mark the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation. The work, with music by Arthur Honegger and text by Denis de Rougement, honors Niklaus von Flüe (Brüder Klaus), 1417-1487, a Swiss folk hero who believed arbitration, rather than war, should be used to resolve conflicts.
