- Originally written and choreographed by Armand Vestris as a new ballet inspired by Charles Louis Didelot's ballet Zélis, with music by Gioacchino Rossini, Giovanni Pacini and Pietro Romani, and presented for the first time Dec 31, 1823 at the Vienna Staatsoper. This English version is probably that arranged by Thérèse Elssler and presented at the King's Theatre, London, for the first time on July 11, 1833.
