- The archivist of London's Royal Opera House celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the reopening of the theater after World War II. Towards the end of World War II Covent Garden was leased to Mecca Cafés as a dance hall. It reopened on February 20, 1946 with a performance of The sleeping beauty.
