- Eugene van Grona, founder of the American Negro Ballet, and Lavinia Williams, a former member of the company, recall its first season and early years, during which its repertory included Firebird, Children of the earth, and collaborations with Duke Ellington. Van Grona demonstrates an exercise based on breathing. In the brief commentary Esoterica balletica (here titled Balletica esoterica), Betty Low presents a remembrance of costume designer Barbara Karinska.
