- Berg Collection copy in contemporary half brown half goatskin over marbled paper on boards, marbled endpapers; two volumes in four, extra-illustrated, probably by George Edward Dimock, with about 106 insertions, mostly engravings, with some photographs and holograph material; bindings signed E.P. Dutton & Co.Holograph items : a check for $200 issued by Ticknor & Fields to Lydia Maria Child, endorsed by her on the back ; autograph letter, signed, by C.P. (Christopher Pearse) Cranch in 1891, to E.P. Dutton & Co., telling them where they can find "the negative of two pictures made of me some years ago" ; autograph letter, signed, 1847, by Colonel (Caleb) Cushing, to the "Assistant Adjutant General with the Army in Mexico", declaring that "I have the honor to report to you that the Regiment of Infantry called for from the State of Massachusetts for duty in Mexico has been mustered into the service of the United States, and is now awaiting orders from Head Quarters" ; Salem Custom House document, undated (but 1846-1849), signed by Nath. Hawthorne and others, acknowledging importation of an unspecified shipment from Africa ; cut signature, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. ; cut signature, Henry W.
