Summary
Documentary on two dance forms and their associated crafts in the Republic of Palau, an island nation in Micronesia. The first section of the program focuses on traditional Palauan dance and the making of bark skirts, turmeric-coconut oil body make-up, and other costume accessories for performances. In the second section, choreographer/composer Riosang Salvador and others discuss Matmatong, a dance form originally imported from the island of Truk, which incorporates choreographic and musical elements from abroad, and is performed in a different type of costume.
