- Summary
- Interviews with Lavinia Williams and Jean-Léon Destiné, interspersed with footage of Afro-Caribbean dancing in the studio, including a duet by Williams and Destiné. This is followed by views of a modern dance class taught by a woman, who discusses her teaching, which is based on the technique of Alwin Nikolais and Murray Louis. The recording closes with an open-air performance combining dance, singing, drumming, and text, presented on the occasion of the return of the ashes of a revolutionary leader. Destiné is seen performing his Slave dance, a solo in which he sings and dances, on cassette 2.
