- Actors, authors, artists, boxers, composers, directors, editors, horse racing officials, government officials, jockeys, musicians, opera singers, politicians, producers, socialites and other celebrities, many photographed while attending horse races, dining out, or on ships. Some actors and singers depicted in their roles on stage and screen, including one actor portraying Mark Twain. In nearly every image at least one individual is smoking, and in one a person is taking snuff. Individuals depicted include Irving Berlin, Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, Andy Clyde, Anthony W.
