• Translation, with some alterations in arrangement and omissions, of Payer's Die Österreichisch-Ungarische Nordpol-Expedition in den Jahren 1872-74 (Wien : Alfred Hölder, 1876).
• Payer and Karl Weyprecht were the commanders of the Austro-Hungarian North-Polar Expedition described here; also includes material on a preliminary expedition by Payer and Weyprecht to the Barents Sea in the summer of 1871.
