Private die proprietary stamp notes, Spanish-American war; an historical-technical series covering the private die revenue stamps engraved and printed on the order, at the expense and for the sole use of medicine manufacturers by the Bureau of Engraving & Printing, Washington, D.C. in 1899 and 1900, under the Revenue Act of June 13, 1898, amended by Act of Apr. 2, 1901, which annulled the stamp tax on proprietary items, effective July 1, 1901.
