Pforzheimer copy: Presentation copy from the publisher William Stevenson, to John Brand, the topographer and authority on pre-Christian Britain. With a letter mounted to the front paste-down from Stevenson to Brand, 2 Feb 1805 (MISC 4107). The Pforzheimer Collection also holds a letter from Brand to Stevenson, on the subject of Sayers's Miscellanies (MISC 0378). The book bears an inscription in ink in an unknown hand, on the front free endpaper: "A present from William / Stevenson Esq. at Norwich to / John Brand, Somerset House / London Feby. 7th 1805 -- / see Letter annexed."
