- Largely composed of translations from "Carmine burana". (First edition, London, 1884, reprinted by Mosher in 1899)
- Title within ornamental border. The illustrations are from woodcuts by William Strang. "The two border designs and tail-piece are taken from the Essex house press edition (250 copies, London, 1901) of Erasmus on The praise of folie, while the two full page illustrations come in reduced form out of The doings of death, a series of twelve woodcuts, (140 copies only and blocks destroyed, London, 1901)"--Foreward, p. xiv.
