- Mr. Barnett discusses the founding of the Atlanta Ballet 37 years ago by Dorothy Alexander; the company's current season; community support; touring; educational programs; dancing with symphony orchestras; its Nutcracker production as a gift to the city; Ruth Mitchell's dance group and other companies; the composition of the Atlanta Ballet; whether his two sons will become dancers; the artistic standards of the company when no salaries are paid; and the advantages and disadvantages of working with a regional company. - Ms. Rich discusses growing up in Atlanta; dancing with Atlanta Civic Ballet and New York City Ballet; the differences in Atlanta Civic Ballet then and now; returning to Atlanta to raise a family; her roles with the Atlanta company; community attitudes towards dance; and the economic aspects of working in a regional ballet company.
