Summary
Documentary on the Gruppo Folkloristico Zig-Zaghini, a folk dance company from San Giovanni, Galdo, Italy, and its activities at Folkmoot USA. In addition to performance excerpts, the program includes an interview with Niccolino Donato, the company's founder, and supplementary information on its home region in Italy, repertory, and costumes. Among the dances performed are a quadrille, a women's dance depicting the sifting of olives, and three courting dances: a handkerchief dance, a mirror dance, and a saltarello. The program begins and ends with montages of the 1984 Folkmoot USA, including a parade, performances at the Stompin' Ground, and an interview with the festival's founder, Dr. Clinton Border.
