- Ms. Rudko, artistic director of the Merry-Go-Rounders, discusses her first experience attending a children's performance; starting her group at the 92nd Street Y as a training unit for dancers; the role of the characters Ringmaster and Magic mechanic [the narrator] in Merry-Go-Rounders' programs; performance venues; the contrast between her company with its varied repertory and a one-choreographer company; the various choreographers who have worked with her company; Fred Berk's folk dance pieces; the company members' backgrounds; the type of pieces in the repertory; sponsorship of the company; booking information; and future plans.
