- Costume of Spanish women, mulattoes, and native Peruvians or Peruvians of mixed Indian and European ancestry (cholo) in Lima. Includes Spanish women wearing mantillas, dressed for the evening, reclining in a hammock smoking a cigar with a man sitting on the far end of the hammock, and on horseback; a mulatto smoking a cigar and wearing jasmine in her hair, a mulatto couple (he smoking) dancing; cholo or Indian wearing multi-colored poncho; chola or Indian wearing black apron in commemoration of Atahualpa, the Inca king; chola or Indian in traditional garb leading llama carrying firewood.
