- Ms. Corben describes her first association with the Joffrey Ballet; working with Alexander Ewing and then Isadora Bennett; Bennett's personality; her own education and background in dance; the positive atmosphere for dance at that time; the influence of Morton Baum; her relationship with Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino; their personalities; traveling with the company; the formation of the company's board of directors; the choreographies Astarte and Clowns; the transition from Ewing to Anthony Bliss; Sally Bliss joining the company; the formation of Joffrey II; her own feelings about Mr. Bliss' impact on the company; getting fired by Mr. Bliss; political and economic issues regarding the company's structure; and Herbert Migdoll's influence on the company.
