- Summary
- Presents a historical documentary which examines the imagery which has for centuries portrayed Ireland as a woman. Archival footage and newsreels, photos and graphics, and period songs and music are interwoven with interviews which offer insights into the interrelationships between nationalism, feminism, and Catholicism and examine the social and political reality behind cultural stereotypes, thereby revealing the largely unrecorded role of women in Irish history.
