- Biography
Playwright and poet Bahati was born in Pittsburgh, PA. Amirh Bahati was educated at the City College of New York, where she majored in English and creative writing. She is an alumna of several writing workshops, including the Playwrights Workshop of the Negro Ensemble Co., the Writers Union of the Public Theater, and the Frank Silvera Writers Workshop in New York City. She has given poetry readings at numerous locations in New York and on several radio stations.
