After preliminary discussion about her dogs, Ms. Starbuck discusses how she began to skate; participating in the 1968 Olympics; touring experiences; the pleasures of performing; turning professional; touring with the Ice Capades; adjusting to life after she quit skating and finding ways to continue performing; Peter Martins choreographing for her; issues in partnering; partners she has worked with; developing as a mature skater; ice dancing; the emphasis on tricks over technique and style in competitive skating; John Curry's influence on her skating; her admiration for Katherine Healy; current competitions of interest. After formal interview ends they discuss issues relating to Ms. Finkel's article, photographic rights, and photographer Barbara Bordnick.
