- Note
- A satire attacking James Ogilvie, 1760-1820, a Scottish orator and social critic. At one time erroneously attributed to Washington Irving, the work contains numerous references to Godwin and "the Godwinian school." Irving himself has been identified "Young T," one of the characters. Cf. Irving, Washington. Miscellaneous Writings 1803-1859, Vol. I (Boston: Twayne, 1981) p. xxv-xxvi.
