  • Disc 1 (ca. 59 min.): Processional -- Memorial -- Opening ceremony: Lamban: the dance of the griots / performed by the [Bedford-Stuyvesant] Restoration [Corporation] Student Dance Ensemble -- Proclamation in honor of the 20th anniversary of DanceAfrica, followed by speeches by Harvey Lichtenstein, executive producer of Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Chuck Davis -- [Welcome speech] / by Chuck Davis -- [Dances and drumming] / performed by the Dinizulu Dancers, Drummers and Singers ; includes Alunja (dance homage to the Alunja harvest deity), Gome (drum solo featuring the gome, popularized by Ga fishermen of Ghana), and the Gum boot dance (South African miners' dance).
  • Disc 2 (ca. 62 min.): [Dances] / performed by Charles Moore Dance Theatre ; includes Tyi wara [excerpt] (dance of a supernatural being who taught the Bamana tribe of Mali how to cultivate their land) and Te-Ma-Te (dance from the Yacouba tribe of the Ivory Coast, celebrating the planting and harvesting of rice) -- Traditional Carnival of the Caribbean / performed by Marie Brooks Pan-Caribbean Dancers ; carnival dances accompanied by drums and birdsong -- Grand finale / featuring all of the evening's performers.
