- Description
- 1 videodisc (NTSC) (32 min.) : sd., b&w; 4 3/4 in.
- Summary
- Rehearsal supervised by Michael Somes of the Royal Ballet. As the tape of Monday begins, two women in turn perform parts of the solo and work on details with Michael Somes. The solo is performed in full, with a brief interruption, by three women, dancing simultaneously. The first two women, dancing simultaneously, then perform the solo in full. In the first 6 min. of Monotones no. 1, Somes and two women work on sections from the women's choreography from the ballet, which is a trio for two women and a man. Two alternate cast members work in the background. The dancers then run through the complete ballet (ca. 8 min.), with a brief interruption during the third Gnossienne, after which Somes stands in for the man. The dancers begin again, but the tape ends ca. 4 min. into the ballet.
