Summary
Documentation of the reconstruction of a dance work performed by Akarova in Charleroi, Belgium, in November 1938, and taught by her to the dancer-choreographer Michèle Noiret for a performance at the second Biennale Internationale de Charleroi/Danse in April 1994. The two women are seen in discussions and rehearsals in the studio and onstage, and the program concludes with a performance of the work, which is titled Langage secret, ou la naissance de l'être. This video won the Prix mémoire de la danse in the 9th Grand Prix International Vidéo Danse, 1997.
