Mr. Berk discusses his childhood in Vienna; working in his parent's shop; his family's Passover seders; his family's synagogue; eating pork for the first time; his first return to Vienna after World War II; finding performing work through Hedy Pfundmayr; the choreography of Margarethe Wallmann; the rise of Nazism in Vienna; experiencing anti-semitism while on tour; performances by dancers and dance companies in 1930s Vienna; seeing Carmen Amaya perform in Cuba; life in Cuba in the late 1930s.
