- Summary
- Compilation of examples of different Native American dances, recorded mainly at powwows in the Plains states. The narrator provides detailed descriptions and explanations of each dance's background, significance, movements, music, regalia and accoutrements. The unique regalia and face painting of the Crow Indians receive special attention. Innovations such as team dancing and the Indian two-step, adapted from European dance styles, are also depicted. Children and teenaged dancers appear in some of the dances.
