Biography
Playwright and actor. Yemi Khensu, a resident of Washington, DC, has been involved in the theater since 1977 when he was asked to develop a show to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the English speaking Caribbean countries' independence. After the success of "Another shade of black" he wrote "Black reflections," a television special which he also directed and co-produced for the American Forces Television Network, "Passions," a one-man show which opened the Caribbean International Festival of the Arts, 1981. As a performing artist, his list of credits includes leading roles in the film "From rags to reality" and "Black reflections." Khensu has designed costumes for both television and stage and has contributed to several theatrical productions as producer, director, choreographer, dancer, writer and musician.
