Mr. Paredes discusses joining the Denver Civic Ballet; his move to New York City; compares professional ballet in Mexico and the United States; describes his dance and academic training in Mexico; his childhood education in visual art; his early dance training.
- Cassette 2. Recorded on Side A only, April 13, 1979; aired June 1, 1979 on WNYU FM. Tape quality is intermittently poor. Mr. Paredes discusses his early years performing with American Ballet Theatre; working with Jerome Robbins; his first experiences in character roles; his preparation for these roles; the character of Madge, the Witch, in the ballet La Sylphide; designing costumes for Act IV of La Bayadère; the challenge of collaborations between set and costume designers; his future plans.
