Summary
Retrospective of Gabriella Komleva's thirty-two years on the ballet stage. Present-day scenes of the ballerina teaching a class of young women are interspersed with performance excerpts featuring her in various roles. After the technical portion of the class, Komleva coaches some of the dancers in choreographic excerpts from various ballets, including Anton Dolin's Pas de quatre and a variation and adagio from Swan lake, Act II. Pre-recorded performance excerpts from Pas de quatre, danced by Komleva and others, are intercut with footage of the dancers in the studio, doing the same choreography. Komleva also talks to the dancers about the performing life and the choices and sacrifices it entails.
