Summary
Part of the documentation of the week-long tap dancing workshop By word of foot I, presented by the Changing Times Tap Dancing Company on October 13-18, 1980. As an introduction to the class taught by Charles "Cookie" Cook and Ernest "Brownie" Brown (who formed the team of Cook and Brown), Jane Goldberg demonstrates the time step. She, Cook, and Brown then perform "Old man Time," a dance with canes. Cook and Brown demonstrate parts of their act, including Brownie's specialty, falls, and his virtuosic somersaults and splits. They then join in teaching various steps. This class continues on *MGZIC 9-5749.
