First publication of a lost story for children written by Mary Shelley for Laurette (Anna Laura Georgina), the then eleven-year old daughter of Lady Margaret Mountcashell. Written in 1820, the original manuscript in the author's hand was discovered in Tuscany in 1997 by Cristina Dazzi, wife of Lady Mountcashell's great-great-great-grandson.
