  • Illustrations comprise stereotype copies of 32 of the 37 woodcuts designed by Albrecht Dürer for the original edition of the Kleine Passion, Nuremberg, 1511. Except for image on page 64 (Jesus parting from his mother, engraved by Charles Thurston Thompson after Dürer's print), all were printed from stereotypes made from the 35 original woodcut blocks that had been acquired by the British Museum; reprinted from the 1844 edition edited by Henry Cole (London : Joseph Cundall and others).
  • Full-page images, chiefly with Bible quotations on facing pages.
