- Former New York City Ballet dancer Vicki Bromberg describes her audition for School of American Ballet; combining her schedule of ballet classes with academics; joining New York City Ballet; her early impressions of George Balanchine; her early years in the corps de ballet; competitiveness among the dancers; rehearsing with Balanchine on Noah and the Flood, Scheherazade and Violin Concerto; her stage fright; working with Jerome Robbins; Balanchine's lessons in the economics of running NYCB; leaving NYCB; her impressions of the Company today and thoughts about its future.
