- Former New York City Ballet dancer Vida Brown Olnick discusses becoming ballet mistress for New York City Ballet and her responsibilities as ballet mistress; she speculates about George Balanchine's reasons for assigning her the job. She discusses restaging Gounod Symphony for the Company in 1985, the different demands of working with Balanchine and Jerome Robbins and the process of replacing ailing dancers in Company repertoire.
