Memorial service for Leni Wylliams, with spoken tributes by Barbara Gardner, Eleo Pomare, and many others. Numerous video excerpts are screened, attesting to Wylliams's achievements as a dancer and choreographer ; among them are excerpts from Rod Rodgers's Langston lives! and Echoes of Ellington ; Pomare's Missa luba (from Conagua), Ode to Prophet Jones (from Radiance of the dark), Nightspell (from Blues for the jungle), and Phoenix ; and Wylliams's own works In the rain and Sweet in the morning. The service, which also includes songs and music, concludes with a candlelight ceremony.
