- The text is reprinted from the London edition of 1579, translated from the Spanish version of Santaella which was printed at Seville in 1503; Santaella made his translation from the Venetian ms. (dated 1493) now in the Biblioteca del Seminario in Seville.
- Facsimile of original t.-p. reads: The most noble and famous trauels of Marcus Paulus, one of the nobilitie of the state of Venice, into the East partes of the world ... Translated into English. At London: Printed by Ralph Nevvbery, 1579.
- Frampton's translation of Nicolò de' Conti is from the Castilian translation made by Santaella from Poggio's "De Varietate Fortunae libri quatuor."
- Appendix I consists of Penzer's notes to Frampton's text; Appendix II (p. [263]-341) is made up of selected passages from Ramusio (1559) as translated by Marsden, 1818.
- Colophon: This edition of The travels of Marco Polo and of Nicolò de' Conti is the sixth publication of the Argonaut Press and is limited to 1050 copies on Japon vellum, numbered 1 to 1050. The original woodcut appearing on the title-page is by William Monk ... The volume has been printed by Walter Lewis ... at the University Press, Cambridge, in the year 1929.
