- "[This] unfinished story is the third in the collection of ten fragments known as Tsutsumi chūnagon monogatari. 'Tsutsumi chūnagon', 'the Counsellor of the embankment', was Fujiwara no Kanesuke, who lived at the beginning of the tenth century. But linguistic experts say that the stories cannot be earlier than the twelfth."
