- "The principal portion of the text is reprinted with the permission of the Grolier Club from its volume on Franklin and his press at Passy, issued in 1914. The facsimiles appear here for the first time, except the first page of the Passy French edition, which was used in the Grolier Club volume ... The longer quotations, also, were not included in that volume. Two paragraphs have been added, from references supplied by Mr. William S. Mason, describing three reprints hitherto unrecorded."--Prefactory note, signed G.P.W. [i.e. George Parker Winship].
