This edition has two royal privileges, dated June 28, 1691 and Sept. 30, 1697, respectively, commencing on the verso of the last p. of the index (p. [552-558]). "Apprend" in title spelled with 2 p's; "troisiéme" in edition statement has acute accent; "montée" in publisher's address spelled correctly. For reproduction of t.p., cf. article by P. Hyman and M. Hyman in Petits propos culinaires 2 (1979), p. 47.
Another edition, also called the 3rd ed., with varying collation and orthographic variants on t.p., has the 1691 privilege in the prelims., following the table of contents; lacks 1697 privilege. Cf. Bitting, K.G. Gastronomic bib., p. 314.
Illustrations: 8 prints : woodcut ; image ca. 12 x 14 cm. Four are signed: P.L.S., i.e. Pierre Le Sueur? Subject: Table service. On gathering of folded leaves signed *⁸, inserted after p. 88.
