Summary
Depicts aspects of the Schumann horse circus in performance, including horses appearing as if standing inside beer barrels, four horses seated at a table with beer steins in their mouths, 16 horses of various colors standing on their hind legs, and probably the Berliner Drosky Act.

  • Circus Schumann was founded in 1870 and firmly established in Denmark by 1891. It was famous for its equestrian acts. In 1981, the Danish equestrienne Katja Schumann, daughter of master horseman Max Schumann and great-great-granddaughter of the circus' founder, joined the Big Apple Circus of New York City.
