Summary
Elizabeth (Liz) Rockwell discusses the experience of having a professional company outside New York City, in Westchester County. She describes the creation of her school, balancing family and career, the beginnings of Northern Westchester Dance Company, and their early touring experience in Israel. Bonnie Crosby discusses her own training, the evolution of her career, and describes her role with the Rondo Dance Theatre. Rockwell discusses changes in the repertoire to accommodate different audiences, including the use of jazz music. She reflects on the performance space at SUNY Purchase, and the limitations caused by being located in Westcheser County. She discusses the effect of New York City on the perception of art outside the city, and shares her thoughts on the future of Rondo Dance Theatre.
