• Contains the first collection of the "Bagatelles," and the first publication of several of the pieces. "The way to wealth" had been printed and was ready to publish when a friend gave Renouard several of the little "Bagatelles," which he then printed, and added to his book.

With three portraits of Franklin and a plate. (Weitenkampf 190a, 190b, 190c, and 218). At the end, a facsimile autograph letter signed and dated: B. Franklin, Passy, Oct. 4, 1777.

With the armorial bookplate of A.A. Renouard, the publisher, to whom this copy originally belonged. Later, no. 3225 in the Brinley sale.
